20 000 Euros for a good cause: The benefit concert of the Lions Club Bad Vilbel-Wasserburg (LCW) and the Rotary Club Bad Vilbel with the legendary European Doctors Orchestra under the direction of conductor Yordan Kamdzhalov on May 25th was a complete success in every respect: Musically, the 94 musicians impressed the more than 800 visitors in the great hall of Vilco from the very first note.

Members of the two service clubs, along with Bad Nauheim physician and EDO musician Dr. Bettina Leube, presented the two donation checks, each worth €10,000. The recipients of the donations are the non-profit organization Philip Julius for severely disabled children and "The Wishing Car Rhine-Main" of the Workers' Samaritan Federation (ASB).

Outcome and settlement of the EDO concert 25.5.2025

From Lions Club

As the settlement from the Department of Culture progressed rather slowly and several months had already passed since the EDO concert, we decided in September 2025 to make an initial payment of €10,000 to each of the two beneficiaries, Philip Julius and the ASB Wünschewagen. Part of this amount was advanced from our own funds, but we were confident that the corresponding net proceeds had been generated.

Towards the end of the year, we finally received the settlement from Bad Vilbel Kultur and were pleased to be able to make a further donation of €8,111.34 to each organisation (08.12.2025).
Please find attached the donation receipt from Philip Julius (two pages). Rotary has transferred its donation in the same amount to the ASB Wünschewagen and will no doubt send you the corresponding donation receipt separately.

In total, the EDO concert generated net proceeds of €36,222.68 — a result of which we can all be very proud.
